Needle
Jenis Jarum
▪ Use ballpoint / stretch / jersey needle to avoid skip stitches.
▪ The size of needle depends on the fabric thickness.
▪ Gunakan jarum ballpoint / stretch / jersey / emas untuk elakkan jahitan melangkau.
▪ Saiz jarum bergantung kepada ketebalan kain.
Type of Sewing Machine
Jenis Mesin Jahit
i) 4-thread overlocker / serger (Mesin jahit tepi 4 benang)
- Use to sew seams together.
Digunakan untuk cantum sisi kain.
If you don’t have any, use stretch stitch on your portable sewing machines such as zigzag stitch or lightning stitch.
Sekiranya anda tidak mempunyai mesin jahit tepi 4 benang, guna jahitan memeri di mesin jahit portable anda seperti zigzag atau lightning stitch.
ii) Coverstitch / Interlock
▪ Use for hemming the end of sleeve or bottom shirt / pants.
▪ For topstitching elastic.
▪ Digunakan untuk jahit hem hujung lengan dan bahagian bawah baju / seluar.
▪ Digunakan untuk jahit tindih getah pinggang.
If you don’t have any, you can use stretch stitch on your sewing machine.
Sekiranya anda tidak mempunyai mesin coverstitch / interlock, anda boleh guna jahitan memeri di mesin jahit anda.
iii) Lockstitch (Mesin Jahit Lurus)
▪ For topstitching or gathering stitch.
Digunakan untuk jahit tindih atau jahit kedut.

Teflon / Knitting / Walking Foot
If you use lockstitch / portable sewing machine to sew knits, it is recommended to change the sewing machine foot.
Sekiranya anda menggunakan mesin jahit lurus / mesin jahit portable untuk menjahit knit, anda perlu menukar tapak mesin jahit.
Prewash
- Prewash fabric before cutting to make sure your clothing didn’t shrink after washing.
Kain hendaklah dicuci dahulu sebelum dipotong bagi mengelakkan kain mengecut selepas baju siap dijahit.
